(to the south) waterolour heightened with gilt on brown paper.. signed bottom right 'THSomervell 1927' In pencil on the backing board id written ' Peaks near Nanda Devi' by Howard Somervell given to EWY by him. EWY must be Eleanor Winthrop Young. Also written in pen 'given me about 1950 by my dearest friend (since 1914) the artist Howard Somervell, one of the 'lesser' Himalayas. This second inscription by Jane Cross. 1927 28 x 37 cms. framed & glazed.
